Great Job! It seemed like it took me forever to polish our 22'. Can't imagine the effort to do a 29' like yours. Again outstanding job!....Tim

Matt, It's funny you would say that. I am originally from Carmichael and was planning on staying at Granite Bayfor a week when I visit my folks. However, I have been forced to retire from polishing by my boss (wife). I can, however, supervise?

As a Non-Vintage Person
may I ask?
Are you planning to polish those nice aluminum propane tanks?
(the devil made me ask!)
It's just one more day sweating in the sun!

Paula, The heat index was 115 today so we decided to do the tanks on a lake somewhere north as soon as we get bored of fishing, bbqing and taking pictures of nature. That means they might stay as is for a while. However, after seeing the transition from plain tanks to plain jerry can holders with stainless jerry cans to the shiny trailer, I convinced myself that it looks good as is (I am soooo tired of polishing)

wax?
Fantastic job, Mopariac, are you going to (or have you) put any wax on the trailer to protect that shiny finish? If so, what kind? Thanks very much.

They are stainless steel jerry cans and I purchased them on ebay. The aluminum holders are from Adventure Trailers. I can give more specific info if your interested.

Laird, I haven't put wax on and don't think I will but only time will tell. The Nuvite S polish seems to repell water pretty nicely and it self dusts when rain comes. I am a new ASer so I am kind of still being schooled. Thanks for the "fantastic job" comment...seems to make the polishing aches hurt less.

After looking at the restoration of your truck, did my eyes deceive me or was that an 8 track? And if so, does it work? Great job!

Andi,
Yep it is an RCA 8-track and it works great. So does the am/fm 8-track home stereo in my trailer. My daughter bought me a package of tapes off ebay last xmas so I have quite the selection. Thanks,

OK, another Mopar guy here, and really like your rig. When u started the polishing, did you use a stripper first? Where did you start? (roof or sides?) Where did you buy the Cyclo and Nuvite stuff? I am the pround new owner of a 1973 Tradewind. I hope to get her polished this fall. MPJ
ps, here's a pic of my tow vehicle, not done/ready yet, the 300 grille was just changed in by me.

Nice. New axles would raise your rig by about 5 inches.

Get some Rocktamers to protect that beautiful polish job!
That's a great job on polishing and setup. Went through your pics of the truck too and you're clearly not afraid of in-deep and hands-on!
You may have heard of "Rocktamers" mudflaps that attach to the hitch. Given your truck height and the object of so much hard work pulled so close behind, you might really want to get these. They work!
I bought mine at Cabela's on my way down to Florida to get our AS last year. Here's a grainy picture of them on my stock height '75 Silverado.
I wouldn't pull my boat or camper without 'em.

"Polishing Shoulder"
Im not sure if people realize just how long it takes and how much is involved in polishing a trailer, I polished all day yesterday, got only 1/4 done, with only 1 grade (S).......woke up today and I cannot lift my arms!!!! How will I do the rest today????
