polishing a 91 limited

I have heard that later model airstreams such as 90 and up have some aluminum endcaps that do not polish well because of a "mat" texture in the metal. Could someone correct me on this. I might embark on the polishing craze this spring.

Rick,
Welcome to the forum! I have an 86 with the same "brushed aluminum" finish. I've been looking into polishing for a while and originally thought it was not possible on later model aluminum. However there was a post about this earlier that changed my opinion.

What Year Did the Exterior Finish Change???

I think polishing on later years requires wet sanding to a smooth surface before the polishing process can begin.

Here is one more link to InlandRV. About halfway down there is a picture of a polished 97 Limited

THE POLISHING GURU

Good luck and if you start polishing, please post pictures!
