Interesting technique in that video. I am much too impatient to do it that way. I just did the whole trailer 3-4 times, each layer got easier and easier. The biggest reason for this was that I could see the overall progress. I can serious understand why those guys charge soo much to do the job.

I am retired and it gives me something to do with all the extra time on my hands. Probably will get into it hard this week. I need to get something done before it gets too hot to work on the unit outside. Already reaching the upper 80's and in a couple of weeks will be in the middle 90's. As it is, it is too hot in the middle of the day for me, so I just hit it a couple of hours in the morning and a couple in the evening.

No kidding. I've been polishing this week as well, over here in Austin. Friday, upper 90s, sweating like a... well... like a dude polishing his highly reflective aluminum trailer in 98-degree heat. That was pretty rough.

But Saturday and Sunday it's been in the low 70s and seemed downright chilly. Very nice polishing weather.

Anyway, keep up the good work, it's looking great!

Just an update on the progress I have made. I have started the finish pass on the curb side and I must say it is looking pretty good. I only have 42hrs in the polishing so far and this is a big trailer. The finish pass is going much faster then the first cut. I have not done anything with the top of the unit yet. That will have to wait until I finish the floor inside the trailer. While it is too hot to work outside of the unit I thought I would get some work done inside in the air. Once i tore out the carpet I got the surprise of my life. Work to do. lol Rotten floor by the Hatches.

What a great job! We just bought a 25ft '92 Excella with some clear coat pealing. I'm very glad to know it will polish out that pretty! Not sure yet, if I want to devote the time to do it yet? Early 40's...little kids...busy, busy, but maybe? Need to check out the costs of getting someone to do it, as well. Thanks for all your pics & updates

I'll look for the answer to this elsewhere in the forums, as well, but I was wondering how long this will last? Will this be I do it once, and its done or do I have to do it again & again?

Once you strip the clearcoat and polish it is a ongoing project to keep it up. You will have to keep it waxed to keep the water spots off, and a couple of times a year a quick touch up with the polisher will do the trick. If that is not your bag then you can let it acquire the patina for a couple of years then touch it up. Regardless this is not a one time and its done.
