Polishing

As long as we are on this polishing thing--I'm somewhat confused ( which doesn't take much ) B/S we bought our 02 Bambi, I did some research via the web & I thought somewhere I seen where in the late 90's A/S changed the coating, now I'm not so sure. Some call the coating Clearcoat (which I take it to mean the same as a car ) & others call it Plastic-coat. Is there a difference? Also is there a special kind of Walbernize to use on the more recent models?
Thanks,Bogfrog & Mr. Turbo

Yes- all later models are plasti-coated, and you would have to remove this coating to polish the aluminum. There are a number of threads here concerning this, if you do a search on polishing / clearcoat / or plasti-coat you can find them.
Also the Walbernize you would use is the non abrasive kind which is a sealer for over the clearcoat. A good car wax will work also, but again non-abrasive. There are some super polished rigs on our Airsteamphotos.com site too. Below are a few links---
