I'm afraid there are many of us that have done it. The main reason is the faded clear coat. Your 93 may have better clear coat on it. I've polish two trailers and plan on the third next winter. Ugh.
I recommend the Nuvite process if you take on this project. Check out the "Perfect Polish" website for detailed instructions. You will get the best results even if it takes a bit longer. I had bad results with the Jestco process and can't recommend it.
Your trailer, like mine, was not built with the "aircraft" Alclad aluminum used through the sixties. The aluminum will not polish to a "mirror" finish, but will polish to a very good finish.
After you spend 300 hours polishing your trailer, it's going to rain. Then a bird will target your trailer, then tree sap, then tree leaves sit on it, then morning dew, then towing in the rain. All of these things will stain your polish job. And the natural corrosion process resumes. Most folks do a "maintenance" polish every three years or so to clean up some of the staining.
