Polished trailers - ever been hassled?

I'm wondering if any of the owners of polished A/Ss out there have ever been hassled over their rig for it being too shiny. This would include neighbours, fellow campers, and law enforcement.

Since I'm starting the Big Polish this spring, I'm kind of curious as to what I'm in for in that respect!

I know that when I towed home my Overlander (parts) it blinded me a couple of times. It has a half way ploish on it. If you do a good job, you will need to be careful not to blind yourself, let alone others.....

This is only my $.02 on the subject......

The neighbor complains that their kitchen isn't as bright in the morning when we are gone!

I complain that it has killed the grass about 3' around it where we park at home.

But mostly it's just friendly harassment like KenJ.

Shari you bring up a point - be careful what you have laying around your trailer - we had a tarp that we used as ground cover for the trailer - the tarp melted from the reflection - don't have to worry about anything burning, but it will melt plastic......

The two cardinal rules of polishing are:

1. DON"T POLISH IN HOT SUN
2. ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN- You'll get a nasty sunburn offf that trailer! (personal experience talkin')

You aren't kidding....I was just Walbernizing this past weekend. The sun came out and I had to put my sunglasses on....then later that night, I'm out and someone askes me what I was doing during the day, cause I got a fair amount of sun on my face.

Sure, I'm game to hassle you!

Comment #1: Haven't you watched Antiques Roadshow? You lose value when you polish away the patina!

Comment #2: How are you going to deal with the dullness when you get road dust on it?

Comment #3: Keep that polisher ready, the beast will never stay tamed!

Comment #4: Darn it all, I see a mark here! No, here! Also, over here!

Comment #5: Wax on, wax off. So, you really like karate?

Comment #6: Do you do windows?

Comment #7: Did you say Northern Shine?

Comment #8: What about the belly pan?

Comment #9: It was so much prettier when you had those cool swirly marks.

Any other takers???

Mary
