Polish and then what?

I was listening to the vap this morning didn't get to hear it all, but I did get the part where the gentleman stated you must keep it up. I'm one of these fixin to polish and my question is after you get it polished what entails to keeping it looking good. My husband and myself are fixin to tackle our 31 ft and we know it is going to be a jobbb but my worries are after we do all that work the upkeep.
