Yes there is, we do it to windows the on aircraft . I'm not involved in that part of our work. I do know that it is labor intensive and time consuming.
I will ask at work and see if I can get some more info on it.

I've used 600 and 800 wet sand paper, followed by Fine Nuvite and have gotten perfect plexiglass as a result. Be careful if you use a buffer with the Nuvite. If you overheat the plastic, it's a goner.

There is a product that I have used to remove some scratched from my acrylic aquarium. It is called Novus Plastic Polish, made by Nivus, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a three step process that starts of with a heavy grit liquid polish, then you move on to a lesser grit liquid polish, finally to a non grit finish liquid polish.
It's quite a bit of work and elbow grease to get out the scratches, but it does an excellent job. I don't know how it would do on the haze.
It has been over ten years since I bought the Novus polish. I don't recall where I got it. I don't even know if the company is still in business.

John,
Sorry about the delay. We use 3M Finessite [spelling]. For mild scratches, it is sanded out to 3000 grit . Then start with the coarsest of the three grit and working to the finest.
The 3M product is spendy and available at autobody supply houses.
Another product you may consider would be the kits that are for polishing plastic auto headlights. Should be able to find it at an auto parts place. One of the people I work with, has used it and said the results were good.
Good luck and I hope they turn out for you,
Loren

I have used the liquids that are for polishing plastic auto headlights with some success on auto headlights. When we purchased our 1977 AS the smoked acrylic front window guard on the front was dull and somewhat scratched. On someone's recommendation I tried "Pledge" furniture polish - it worked great!
Worth trying?

I worked for a large subway system and they threw pallets full of nice Lexan in the dumpster that had been condemned where the mar-guard coating had failed from the monster car-wash spinning brushes we used on the cars.
To get passable optical quality (after retrieving it from the dumpster and dragging it home) I found soaking it with RainX automotive windshield treatment two or three times sealed the pores and added a glazed finish, not perfect like new but 85% like new even on very worn Lexan. The treatment has to be reapplied but its $5 a bottle and near zero work!

Hey John, try a can of Plexus. I have used it on motorcycle windshields that were oxidised to the point of being opaque. Most motorcycle shops carry it. Once you try it you'll never be without it. LJH
