Please tomorrow is stripping day..then on to polish

Our trailer is being stripped tomorrow. I have 2 fairly new ZippDee awnings. They would be very difficult to remove. Any suggestions on how to protect from stripper?

Next question is I now learn the aluminum is porous after polishing and hand prints would be permanent if touched soon afterwards. How long before this is not an issue?

Next is would you wax the trailer later to preserve the polish job and how long after and with what?

Help! BadKat

I do a lot of custom aluminum work and after doing polishing I wear rubber or cotton gloves to handle. Good luck , lots of work . Blue

Removing the awnings isn't too hard but I wouldn't bother. Unless they are slinging stripper like madmen it's easy to keep it off the awning.
Porous after polishing? Never heard that one. Fingerprints will etch into bare aluminum but using Nuvite and going all the way to S compound leaves some kind of final protection if you don't do a final wipe with mineral spirits.
I've never had good results with a final wax. It always leaves a milky look when I've tried it.
