One tank down and one to go!
After nearing killing myself stripping the AS, I decided to tackle something today a little smaller. So I got back to polishing my propane tanks. I had started one last wee but got sides tracked with the stripping. So back to work on them today.
I decided to start today on the second tank. I started by wet sanding with 220grit, then went to 400, then 600, then 1200. Then I compound with turtle wax red heavy duty compound, then the white compound, then polished with my brand new cyclone with mothers aluminum polish. Is the tank perfect? Heck no! it's a 36 year old tank that has lots of nicks, dings, and deep scratches. Did it come out nice and shiney? Heck yes, so I'm happy. Took about 6 hours start to finish.
And I actually enjoyed this job, can't wait until tomorrow so can finish the other tank and then start on the awning arms or hubcaps!
