Newbie coating question

My 84 31' Excella has a haze on the roof. Where should I start to see if I can restore it. Does it needs wax or clearcoat. I have had it a few year and confess I have not waxed it. I would like to get it back into shape and could use some advise on where to start. A quick solution would be preferred. I don't think I could afford the time to strip and polish.

Thanks!

What you are describing is pretty typical Airstream "male pattern baldness". Essentially the clearcoat is pretty much gone at the top. On mine, there was pretty much no clearcoat above the windows.

There is no easy fix. Strip and clearcoat would certainly do it but you are disinclined. You might do a forum search for "Sharkhide" -- some users have used it and gotten decent results on an interim basis.

Before I ponied up the bucks to re-clearcoat, I used Meguiar's aluminum polish followed by a coat of Walbernize. Didn't look great but good enough for the time being.
