Need to polish and seal after stripping?

I couldn't find an answer by searching the forum so will start a new thread.

We are getting ready to strip the clear coat off of our 94 Excella 34 ft Airstream.

I have two questions.

Is it necessary to put a clear coat on after removing the old?

Also, we have watched the videos that Matthew of Hofarc has posted on YouTube showing the steps to polishing. He uses three different types of Nu Shine.

My question is, based upon this forums experience, will all three steps be necessary for a trailer that has had the clear coat on it it's whole life?

I am getting ready to order supplies from Vintage Trailer Supply and am trying to decide what polishing materials to buy!

Thanks for your help!
