Unhappy Issues with an acid bath.. Fixing the blimishes caused?

I was stripping down this airstream sovereign. and I found an article about acid bathing in order to remove old build up. However some of the plastic has melted and around the trimming and has caused this black residue to build up around the trimming. Any suggestions?

Greetings, dtodom, and welcome to the forums.

I looked at your attempt to display content from Facebook, and it appears that the problem is with your picture on Facebook, not with your coding on Airforums.

If you haven't already done so, you should use a solution of bicarbonate of soda and water to neutralize the acid bath. Some acid will be trapped beneath your trim and even under rivets. Unless neutralized it will continue to eat at those locations and can lead to leaks (the rivet holes will enlarge).
