Hiring a polisher

We have a 1972 Globetrotter and would like to know if anyone in the Lexington, KY area can be hired to polish her . . . by area, we mean within 300 miles.

Also would like some indication as to the costs . . . thanks

I don't know about anyone in your area, but I think the going price is $100.00 a liner foot so your looking at at least $2100.00

One day soon we will be traveling and polishing others (we hope) We have gotten a pretty good system of 'on and off' polishing using the right formulas...one day any of you that are interested in getting your house polished we will come to you or whatever the case may be and will do it. So Girlzatplay keep us in mind cause we can do it...what do you think? What do any of you think? Hmmmmm? Angel (who is retired) and me don't really have nothing else to do, but we plan to work while we travel. This way we can have a working vacation. I also am an extensive airbrush artist.

Hey RedHawkerII,
I bet a lot of people would take you up on this! Sounds like a good way to work your way across the county. I have courtesy parking, 30 amp hook up on a concrete pad. My trailer already has the first pass of polishing so you wouldn't have anything to do but have a drink and swap stories.

We'll see what happens...when we leave here it will be our first time out on the road...so I imagine we will be terrified (ha!) but we feel if we can make it to the other Airstreamers, they will tell somebody- then somebody will tell somebody else and so on...This is my promise to Angel who helped me paint all the murals...was to take him to places he had never imagined, I know we can make this work. And we also long for those 'stories' too.

RedhawkerII: If you get to Connecticut, send me a pm. I'll put up up for a night or two and maybe put you to work as well. It's a little tight in my yard, but I have water and 15Amps.

As to the main question, I've scene prices as high as $3000 for a 25 foot trailer. I'm unaware of any shops in your area (or mine for that matter). Check out to see where tanker truck guys get their aluminum tankers polished maybe?

There is a dealer/shop in Spokane, WA that will do polishing for $100 per linear foot so purman is probably right about that being the going rate. That is the only place I checked the price and immediately thought to myself, "self, I could buy the stuff and do it for less money and then still have the stuff to keep polishing."

Good Luck

Just wanted to tell you that we don't drink, but everything else is alright...
