Have top half pine sap problem

I am looking at a 98 Safari...apparently, the current owner had it stored under some pine trees off and on for a couple of years and the sap dripped on the top half, I am looking to see if " walbernizing " is sufficient to get it back to luster...Help...I am in the process of making an offer this weekend just want to make sure the exterior can be broght back without a major investment....Thanks. Ernesto

Hi Ernesto -- I got a fair number of returns when I entered 'pine sap' in the search field. I would suggest that while you await any other replies.

Walbernize is only a liquid wax concoction. It helps protect intact clearcoat and by itself would probably not address the pine sap issue. The challenge will be removing pine sap with the least damage to clearcoat.

Best wishes in your Airstream search!

Vegatable Oil

I found a recommendation on this site to use vegatable oil to rub out the pine sap. I tried it and it works!

Go to a local auto body shop or auto body supply store and ask them, we use to keep some stuff where I worked that would take it off and not damage paint. Didn't use it every day so I don't remember the name.
