I was thinking of printing out this entire thread for my AS scrapbook. It's a pretty good diary of our polishing efforts.
Thanks..I'd like to get inputs from everyone~!
BTW, I started doing just what you suggested the other night and, found out..Ready for this??
Each page of this thread takes approx 35 to 37 pages of printed sheets.`! I ran out of paper`!~!lmao
But, I agree..it's an excellent idea for a "scrapbook"~!
I'll keep you informed thru the PM sys..

ciao~

Yea, yea, yea...I see that, page 8...Good for you~!~

There is enough information in this one thread it deserves it's own seperate forum/website lets see www.shinyairstream.com ?

I print out threads that have pertinent info to the project on hand. The local CFO wanted to know why she was always having to buy more paper Told her to put on the AS repair account

Summary

53 FC you know there is a lot of info in this thread but someone would have to spend a lot of time reviewing it all and then with more than one method of polishing it would be confusing to a new comer as who is doing what and why two seperate methods with same results ( not really the same as Nuvite does a better job but taking less than a stright on photo the shines look the same).
To summarize would be helpful and if you do decide to do it and I can help let me know.

Yes, we did have to leave our beloved A/S behind and it is not under cover. It is currently in MS and we are in OK. I also wonder how the Turtle Wax is holding up, I will be one unhappy camper if I have to polish out water spots. I will find out in Dec.
I plan to install new axles in March or April and head to FL for a few weeks. Will take my polishing stuff with me. I think I will have to switch over to Nuvite for the final touch and I can't believe it but I am looking forward to polishing some more.

Garry

Thanks garry..You and, others have offered the same..That's really what sets this group apart from any other group I've known~
I'm willing to bet that, the wax you applied has made a world of differences`It just stands to reason~
Oops, I recall seeing your name somewhere touching on the subject of axle replacement..Good luck on that too..(Have you ordered them already?) Since I average about 6k miles each year on the road with my unit..Maybe, that fact alone will help prolong the life of mine. I never overload nor drive at high speed.
Next year, Im giving some thoughts on a '5th year cycle' tire replacement plan..This would be as good a time as any to have the axle's geometry checked..
Again Thanks~!

Smile Last update for the winter

Ya right!

Took advantage of the holiday today and put in 7 hours.

Got some last minute polishing done and even cyclo'ed the front end cap. Jury is out on that one...

Anyway I got all my LED marker lights installed, and even painted the AS lettering and trim....

Alas it did not all go easily. It was and I said to myself, self, this is to easy. Then it happened. A marker light power wire in the front broke off inside the trailer! I had a small hole and no wire

So, after about an hour set back and a new hole in the behind my radio in the cabinetry inside, I got a new wire run...

Here are some pics...

Smile Last one....

Here is a shot of the rear with the marker lights on.

Can't really see too well, but the led markers are really nice.

This completes 92.5 hours.... more to go as usual.

Time to get into holiday mode and pick up in the spring.

Cheers to all.

Very nice Tim, your hard work is showing . If you were to finish before the holidays, you could hang your new shiny ornament on your tree.

I've got to tell you guys that, up until two days ago, I've been polishing entirely with Southern Shine and a 'chink' HF buffer. So, this was my benchmark. Well I just ordered and received the Nuvite sample pack from AS Dreams and man is there a difference. Ten times easier with one tenth the mess. Now don't get me wrong, the SS has its place. Just not for the first pass on polishing. Maybe once a year to upkeep the shine. I did about all of the rear end cap to the top of the window line with about half of the 1/4 pound sample of F7. This took me about two and a half hours with alot of that time standing back and admiring my work. My estimated polish time was cut by about two thirds. Yeehaaaw!

I had to cover the trailer up with a large blue tarp because the pecan tree I'm parked under is sapping like crazy. Makes it really tough to polish with all of those little clear and sticky bumps all over the surface. I'll be out of polishing commission for a few weeks until the tree sheads its leaves.

OUCH~!
After all that work is finis, don't you think it's time to park away from that pecan tree? You might try spirit of mineral to clean those stickie sap bumps with..Seems to work on just about everything else.
Welcome to the Nuvite group..As you say, each product has its place.
Question.
Do you have a cyclo polisher available to use?
ciao

Access to Cyclo

I purchased a Cyclo from Top of the Line Products on the web. Didn't like the results after using it a short time. I now realize its not for the first pass, that's the compounder's job. I'll get the cyclo out when its time to get out the swirl marks, probably after the first of the year. The best stuff for getting off the tree sap is Bug, Tar & Tree Sap Remover by Johnson Wax made for your car.

Glad to be part of the Nuvite group. Should have been here all along.
