filiform corrision around battery doors

I need to remove the bezels surrounding both battery door openings on my 31' Classic to address filiform corrosion on them. Can anyone tell me how they come off?

I believe they are attached from the inside with fasteners (screws), but I think you have to remove the inner skin to get to the screws.

And, if you have corrosion on those battery doors, odds are your converter has been overcharging your batteries causing them to out-gas.

Steve,
The doors themselves and the area around the doors are fine, no problems there. The bezels themselves show corrosion. I was hoping to remove them to refinish but won't be removing skins to do that.
Also thanks for your pm Bob, maybe that's how I'll handle it.
