Exterior trim colors?

Need advice: we're starting the stripping process, and I'm anxious to repaint the trim when we get that all done. We did some searching and reading today about the colors used to replace the blue pinstriping, etc. We came up with Ford Engine Blue or a Rustoleum blue for the blue. But what reds have people used? I am planning (tentatively with some resistance from Chris) on using a brush as opposed to spraying for most of it, mostly because I can pick up and put down a brush as needed, but spraying would be more of a dedicated set up and take down if you get my drift (no pun intended). Or, would spraying be better since I'll be working on the vertical instead of horizontal?
Advice please from all you experts!

I sprayed mine.... I would think that on the exterior application, the brush strokes would really show. Tape up really well before you spray. I went to the local newspaper; they sell the end rolls of the newsprint paper they use... there is quite a bit still left on the roll, great for little projects like these.
As far as colors, mine is now black/gold to match the awning. the original stripe on mine was woodgrain on a black background (limited package). THe woodgrain had faded to a yellow, so I just matched the gold on the awning. The later limiteds had burgundy stripes. all the other models were blue.
