Cyclo'd with C- ok for Vulkem?

Yippee! It feels so good to be finally putting stuff back together as opposed to taking something apart, and then realising that I have to take it apart some more, and then becoming resigned to the fact that it has to come apart completely. I digress, finally after numerous setbacks (all due to my own ignorance and not thinking to ask, before fully understanding the possible consequences ), I have got my '64 Sovereign polished somewhere near the state I am happy with, essentially to the point where it has been cyclo'd with nuvite C ( which I will maintain it at untill the interior is finished, I know, don't ask), so, what I am asking here is with regards to putting the eyelid covers over the windows and doors where applicable. I was going to put Vulkem on the back of them before riveting them back into place, can it all just go straight onto the polished with "C" skin. or should it be stripped where necessary to accept the Vulkem? Sorry, half way on my way to writing another novel here again, any help appreciated.
Pete.

I would clean both surfaces where the vulcum will seal with denatured alcohol prior to application - then go for it.

Thanks for that, I just thought I had better check, this whole Aistream restoration thing has been such a steep learning curve and sometimes pretty unforgiving. Thanks again.
