I 400 grit sand the corrosion and then coat with Revlon clear fingernail polish. It seals the area and lasts for years.

Thanks guys,
I'll get some of each, looks like it will be a good product to have handy, sort of like duct tape, WD 40, and a good pocket knife.

The surprising corrosion on my 2012 20' flying cloud is NOT on any seam/rivet, but around all 4 side bezels. Should this be a warranty item?

Still under warrantee, replaceable parts, may be covered.

I'm guessing you mean the clearance light bezel edges contacting the shell, rubbing through the clear coat, and causing corrosion which soon spreads. It will get worse and includes the upper clearance lights as well.

It's a problem on all 2011 and early 2012 Airstreams as they started to use a new light fixture with LED lights. Later 2012 models have a thicker gasket installed which holds the bezel out away from the shell.

Airstream is well aware of the problem. Call Airstream Customer Service in Jackson Center and work out a solution with them.

Some owners have had the corrosion fixed and gaskets added, and Airstream did it at the Service Center or covered it elsewhere. We also had 7 of 11 clearance lights showing moisture inside, took it to Jackson Center while on a trip where they replaced them all.

I don't think it is specifically a warranty item but Airstream has stood behind it, to their credit.
