Clear coat on a 64 model

Hey folks,
Almost through with restoring the interior of our 64 Safari. I am wondering does the 64 have a clear coat that would have to be removed before polishing? I have really enjoyed the restoration project up till now but really not looking too forward to the polishing project????

In 64 plasticoat was a low cost option and most were coated. It is easy enough to get it off. There are many threads on that. Depending on how fancy you want to get, it can be polished fairly quickly or take a long time. Most non-VAC people will not know the difference and think it is neat no matter how much time you put into it.
