cleaning & waxing

Our trailer is new and I'm looking for the best products to protect it with. Can I get some suggestions for cleaning and waxing products?

Yes. I've been using a product called Protect All for a number of years now and have had good results with it. AS recommends a product called Walbernize for the aluminum exterior, but then you'll need other products for the glass, rubber, vinyl, etc. Protect All is the "one stop shop" if you will, as it is great on all surfaces.

Do a search. There are many threads about this on here already.

I am also new, and after reading a ton of threads, what I have gathered is that it depends on the condition of your RV. In my case, I have a 2014 which probably still has the factory clear coat, so basically treat it like a nice car, and use car products (like Meguiar's) to wash and wax it. If you have an older AS and the clear coat is gone, there are different products you may want to use.

I'm very happy with Zaino wax, using the all in one product. https://www.zainostore.com/

I will look for it at Camping World, thanks. Do you hand apply it or spray it on?

Waxing an Airstream

Yes, there are plenty of alternatives. The finish on the aluminum is quite durable.... some sort of teflon-like material applied by Alcoa during the manufacture of the aluminum sheets. But I think it is wise to keep as much UV off of it as possible. I just wash with Joy and a soft brush (car finish brush) and then whip dry to remove any water spots. Then I apply Walbernize:

It is easy to apply and buff. I do this a couple times a year.

George

P.S. Do not use Walbernize on the rock guards. They are made of brushed SS and Walbernize gives the surface a blotchy look.
