Cleaning & Washing Polished Aluminum

Curious as to what type of product people are using to clean their polished trailers. We've spent a considerable amount having our trailer polished and we're looking for a cleaner to use. I've ordered liquid glass and liquid glass pre cleaner. Are there any recommendations for a good cleaner? Also... I've noticed a couple of hand prints on the polished aluminum, made by me when I was balancing myself on a ladder to tighten and secure the awning. The hand prints will not come off with soap and water. Do I need to re polish or is there a product that will clean up the polished aluminum? Appreciate any insight!

Thank you!
Jason

Repolish hand prints and most other smears. Water spots are a pain...you will have them...Same thing, re polish to remove. You may as well resolve yourselves to the fact you will have to republish regularly for it to remain. Clean it up after every trip...or regularly. Dry it ASAP after washing of wet conditions. Snoqualmie?.....a full time job. Just go enjoy it and republish every three years, or so, and have fun.

We have found that NuFinsh is a good protectant to use after a fresh polish job. It helps with the hard water marks. The handprints are from the oils in your hand oxidizing the aluminum...as Robin says, the only way to remove them is to re-polish & wash regularly. The minute you stop polishing, the oxidation begins again.

Thank you for the posts and suggestions. We're planning on polishing again, but I'm curious what other people are using to keep their polished trailers clean, In between polishing. I've read online that a "mild" mix of spotless liquid automatic dish washing detergent works great and helps with spots on polished aluminum. Wouldn't think of using a house hold detergent on my car. I'm curious if anyone else has heard of or tried this dishwashing detergent method, also what product brand people are using to clean their polished trailers?

Thank you again for the posts!
