car wax or Socar sealant?

A couple we know have just purchased a 2001 25' Safari. One question that I have is that he was told that he could use a good quality car was on the trailer in order to prevent the aluminum skin from oxidizing. Is that accurate?
We own an older (1994) 30' and use Socar Sealant twice a year as I understand that this helps to prevent oxidation. I doubt that car wax does but I wanted to ask. Would anyone know?
