Can you spot the difference in these 2 pictures?

I did the frame in Por15. Several other parts were powder coated. I found a local guy here in Richmond, VA. He's a vet, and he and his father do powder coating very affordably. They sandblast and then coat. I was very pleased with his work. In the "after" pic, they did the black tensioner brackets, the wheel and cover, and the propane hold down fixtures. They have a color called polished chrome which is shinier than the por15 silver. You can see the subtle difference between the por15 I sprayed on the jack column, and what is the collar for the wheel if you click on the picture. I am also rebuilding my original 1964 International TV antenna which worked, but was corroded. He did all the brackets for me, and put 3 coats of the paint on just to smooth out some of the pitting as best he could.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I told him I might have some inquiries if folks are happy with the way it looks, and he'd be happy to have the business....

THe only differences I see are that the hose has moved, the plants are in bloom and the safety chains are longer. Did I miss anything else?

Actually, the trim piece is missing, right under the tire. I was trying to take some dents out of the banana wrap. And I did add some raised beds this summer. Thanks.

Just wanted to update. Powder coating is not a good idea. For every part I powder coated, rust is coming through. It's great for interior parts, but out of everything I have had powder coated, I have had to go back and paint (even the axles) at this point, I immediately paint anything that ever gets powder coated. It just doesn't work.

After sandblasting you need to apply a primer to stop the rust.

It the powder coated stuff is rusting, the powder coater isn't doing it right.

Powder coating is very durable and water tight, the powder coat company isn't getting the rust off before coating.

That said, I paint most everything because it is cheaper, faster, and good enough.

These guys have professional equipment and everything was sandblasted until there was no rust showing. I haven't bought a powder coated product yet that did not rust after a couple of years.

They even put a double coat on some of the pieces just to hide some of the pitting.

How does your guy "bake" the powder coating on the axle and frame members, it would have to be a big oven and it would burn up your trailer, just wondering?

No I bought the axles from a company axis axles that actually powder coated them. That's what I'm saying, from gate hardware, to axles to having someone professionally do it by hand I haven't found any powder coating to work consistently.
