Calling All The Polishing Girls!

I was just wondering how many women out there in Airstream land have polished their own rigs? I am 2/3 of the way through the first cut, and I'm proud to say I have done all the work on my own! I'm super psyched and wanted to know how many of you have done the same.

Aside from a polishing demo from Mr. InsideOut, it's been all my labor. When the experts said it's tough, they weren't kidding. It's every bit of work and then some. But.....very rewarding.

It's big arm summer for me - anyone else?

Check me out!

It's time for me to have a sit-down with my other half! I think I'll use your thread as a talking point. Sometime shortly thereafter, I will likely be sleeping in the trailer. :-)

You might get kicked to trailer! Although, that's not a bad place to be right?

Thanks Shari! It's not quite like Birdy or Maxwell....but with a little road dust on her, you won't be able to tell. Unfortunately, I inherited that "good is good enough" gene.

One thing I have learned in my life journey is that there are two things are not cheap.--------- One is an RV and the other is a good woman. You pay for what you get.

Im a polishing girl!

I polished Belle last year, although the hard part was done for me by the previous owner, I polish her each year to keep the shine with Nuvite F7 (in the tough spots) then C (a little bit) then I finish with S and the cyclo. This summer I will tackle all the seams before I polish again this summer/fall.

Coming back from a trip last weekend we were approached at Cabellas (dumping) by a couple who own 3 Airstreams. They were so impressed with Belle that they offered me $25/hour to polish their 3 Airstreams.

Here is a pic of me polishing last summer:

Right on girl!

So would you do it again on three Airstreams for $25 bucks an hour?

$25....not enough

I told them in a gentle way, "no"

I just dont have the time, although it is an awesome arm workout!

I checked out your blog, nice work on the cushion recovering! I have a blog too although its not completely devoted to Belle, shares space with camping, gardening and quilting.

BTW if you were closer to Chicago I would have come over to help, just for the fun of it

I've polished 2 so far. The first was a 1976 27' Overlander, and the second was a 1986 31' Sovereign. I'm stepping down next time to a 17' Bambi II! It took me a long time (a few days) to do the annual buff job on the Sovereign this year, but she looks good! Looking forward to doing the Bambi II, but right now, she's just a shell on a new frame & floor, so the polishing will have to wait. Did I mention I'm 50 & feel every bit of it after a day of polishing!!

Oh my.....so far you are the winner! I'm starting to really get over this project. I don't know where I read that you can conquer this job over three weekends. Really? Who can do that?

Super cool looking rigs!

Jezibels - Thanks for looking at the blog! I'll give yours a looksie here soon. Hell no on $25 an hour to polish....but I would stop by to help you!
