Brushed aluminum cleaning

What is a good method to clean and polish the brushed aluminum bumper storage lid. My '66 has the "corduroy" brushed aluminum lid. Thank you.
Neil.

this worked

Neil:

We used an aluminum wheel cleaner and protector called NANO-POLISH by Eagle One. A very small amount went a long way and seemed to work well.

I intend to clear coat the cleaned aluminum with a POR 15 product called GLISTEN.

Smokin - Is that a spray on, wipe off product or does it take some elbow grease? Any power tools required?

elbow grease but it works

Dave:

It’s a light blue cream /paste. Apply by rag or sponge; polish with terry cloth. We may have used a buffer machine on the bumper. Can’t remember. May have used a Dremel or toothbrush in some corners.

We did the whole trailer: all the moldings all around, the window frames inside, the bumper, and the screen door.

I still have HALF of the 5-ounce can left!

You should be able to find it at any auto supply store.

I was wondering if you applied the Glisten and how it has held up.

Never got around to the Glisten but it's still on my list of things to do before leaving for Mississippi.
