35 foot airstream needs polishing!
I am looking for someone to polish my 89 Airstream. I am willing to drive it to your location within reason. I am in Fort Smith Arkansas. If you know of someone that would be interested please let me know.
Thanks!

One tip is to check Aluminum tanker cleaning/polishing shops. Check at a local truck stop or google it. I found one close to me in CT.
several people have used such places with good success.
just a thought.

Would Branson be too far to travel for a polish?

A typical polisher at least on the west coast, will usually charge about $250.00 to $290.00 per foot, for a polish job.
Then that leaves you the job pf waxing the motorhome every year, or more often, depending on the climate and nearness to salt water.

Can it be Polished?
Is your grade of aluminum suitable to be polished? I don't know for sure but I thought Airstream changed materials at some point later models could not be polished.
So somebody out there with knowledge of the years and grades of aluminum please comment.
Ours is a '92 for example and the only options are to reapply clearcoat or to paint it. Quotes I've received in the past indicate painting is more expensive but will last much longer.

Ours is a 89...we have done a 2x2 test area and it looks pretty nice. Not sure you can get to a mirror finish but it looks great none the less.

i have been polishing a AS 31' with a dewalt 849 , you will need to set it at the lowest settings to get the best results so the metal will not heat up. i have about $1000 in this project. i can see how it could cost a lot of cash on this project like Andy R. said. wish you luck with this project RB

your 92 will polish up great! Yes they used different aluminum but it all polishes up. I was told that my 86 couldn't be polished. Its my shiniest Airstream yet...better than any of my 68's I have good luck with some early model 70's too.
