I believe (and others feel free to correct me if I am wrong), that in most cases it would have to be stripped and recoated, depending on how bad it is. Do you have any peeling?

That I don't know, but I am sure it's been covered here before several times. Try the search button and enter refinishing or clearcoat if no one replies that has some exp with the process.

Clearcoat redo. . .

The last time I discussed the subject (more than a year ago), a vintage owner said they were quoted $100 per linear foot. I don't know by whom; but Randy at North Dallas RV (972.242.0404) does a lot of the vintage work here. If, like my Excella, you just have patches of clearcoat loss, you might look into trying a product called Glysten PC, made by POR 15 Company. Use search 'Clearcoat' on this forum for a post listing a phone number for POR 15 and the name Chris. He sounds encouraging; but for me, I plan to buy the smallest amount and try it on the least obvious patch. If it works, I will be one happy Airstream owner!

We have the same problem on our '99 Safari. $100/ft sounds about right. Oasis in Tucson will do it too. I decided to merely polish and wax.

ps - I'm really in Cave Creek...
