1969 Overlander needs washing - use gel gloss

My new to me of 5 weeks 1969 Overlander needs a bath after years of neglect. I use RV gel gloss wash and wax on my Winnie class A - can I use it on the airstream? The airstream has APB, 70% of the plasticoat is still there no more than 30% is bare aluminum. Thre is a lot to do inside before removing plasticoat but now I just need to clean it in order to seal it.
