Help! I was pulling out my curb side awning on my new to me 34' limited for the first time. Had it pulled out, rolled up the center strap and tucked it under the awning and then a number 10 bolt snapped on the right side of the awning. The bolt holds the head assembly to the shaft that runs through the awning. The awning quickly rolled up, not before the loose right hand side slightly dimpled the side of the trailer. My question, whats the best way to straighten this out. I have reattached the head assembly but I can't unroll the awning since the center strap is rolled neatly up inside the awning.

You'll probably need to rewind the spring and then install the bolt...a quick call to Zip Dee should tell you how many rounds.

Get a friend or two and a couple of ladders. You can unroll an awning by hand but it's rather hard on longer units so the more help the better. Since the spring unloaded itself you won't have that resistance to worry about.

Zipdee should also be able to tell you whether you should rewind the spring first or just install a new bolt, then do the spring.

About the dimple, ordinary sunlight should lessen it over time since it happened on a flat panel. First beauty marks are always traumatic, but we all get them. Continue to enjoy your Airstream.

have one person each arm then pull out or attache piece of rope up high each arm then pull evenly either way takes two people, as far as other prob. call ZiDee they are very helpful. Bill

I was able to unroll the awning from the back end by hand while standing on a ladder. Got everything straighten out and working like new.
