You've been deleted!!!
So, and advertisement on this site with a similar title (can't remember exactly since my computer has been down for hours) and wanted me to call 1-888-993-5583 to "remove the virus".
I'm very disappointed that this site would allow such an advertisement.

Im sure they did not allow it, they probably don't know it was there. Those are the worst, next to locking your files.

Same thing happened to me 2 days ago, plus warned me to not turn computer off. This was huge scam. I phoned the 888 # after several seconds determined a scam disconnected call. Comp. locked up turned comp. off restarted all normal. I have life time serv. for trojans virus etc. Received call yesterday, over 5000 comp infected, my comp. fixed under life time program. This trojan prob. came in on warning to ph. 888# and not turn off. This also looked leg. from micro soft. Bill

Did you type "airforums.com" or use a link? If you typed, look in your history to see where you have been.
I was trying to fill out a rebate form for a purchase at Discount Tires. The rebate site was https://dt.rebatepromotions.com. I left out the period between "dt" and "rebatepromotions" and was directed to a site like you described. I recovered by using Task Manager to kill the browser and everything was OK. I guess the crooks are getting sophisticated enough to register look-alike site names and use them to bilk us.

I'm sure this site did not "allow" an advertisement such as this.
I will inform the site administrators of the problem, tho, so that they are aware and also so they can take any preventative action possible.

I used the link from my "favorites" list, so no not the wrong address.

I do know that being a Supporting Member means fewer ads, along with other privileges.

I don't see any advertisements.
If you are a supporting member you can do the following. It is up to you to choose your settings.
1. Click on "User CP" near the upper left of the page in the blue stripe
2. When the User CP opens look along the left side of the page until you see the "Settings & Options" section, then select "Edit Options".
3. When the Edit Option page opens scroll to the bottom of the page, where there are check boxes. This is how you chose the advertisements, links, etc that you receive when you open the page.
PS: My self imposed rules:
1. Do not EVER intentionally open any pop window or advertisement. PERIOD!
2. Do not support merchants who do this method of advertising.

I think ads are managed by your browser in accordance with your preferences, if you have set any, in the ads link that appears sometimes with the ads. I think the web site just provides a place for ads to display but has no control over the ads that appear. At least I think that is how some web sites work. I have noticed that when I open some browser windows I get an ad from Amazon showing things that I have looked at. I don't think the web site I was browsing has that knowledge.
