We have yellow jackets in the underbelly entering through the hole where the lever for the steps is located. Makes it difficult to enter the RV. Can anyone tells us how to get rid of them. How should we kill the queen? Thank you for any help you can give us.

You know, we had a somewhat similar problem with hornets. They were entering around the steps someplace. For the time being, we kept our distance from one another, and then I took a nice drive to Salida, CO from here (about 200 miles), and no more hornets.

I had them. Go to Home depot and buy a spray can of "Hornet Spray" - works! Spray it on the area and they are gone - have used it on bees, hornets, etc. Now I use around our home too!

A less elegant solution I had to employ in one situation at the house......plug the ingress and egress points with newspaper and wait for them to starve.....if you have the time...it takes about a week.

We have had serious issues with yellow jackets this year! I got stung on the face and the dogs have been stung. Whatever you do, do at night when they are all in the hive.

Starting fluid, which is either, drops them in their tracks. Then you can do the Harlem shuffle on them to further the abuse.

Take a shop vac and a 10' section of 1.50" of PVC pipe. Duct tape the PVC to the shop vac hose. Stick the end of the PVC up to the hole and turn on the shop vac, walk away for a few hours.

Down here, yellow jackets nest underground and we use this trick to get rid of them before digging up the nest.

Ok... You sucked 'em up. They don't just die??!! What do you do with the bucket-I-buzzers-n-stingers?

Spray some wasp killer into the hose of the vac, while still on. Then let it sit around for a few hours before listening to see if they are dead. If still buzzing a bit,take off the hose and spray directly into the vac input while running. The vac will smell of bees for months.

Sometimes it's not as easy as the use of a spray would suggest. If they're in the underbelly, just where are they? With those sprays, if I remember correctly, you have to actually hit the wasps/hornets. It's not like Raid fly spray, where you merely spray into the air in the room.

Yes, that's exactly why I suggested the newspaper and starving them. Had some in a wall at the house where I couldn't spray them. Starving worked.

When using the starting fluid, brake cleaner and gasoline than follow up with a match; than the wasps, A$ and you will all be gone.

All you need to do is buy some dog flea collars and stuff a piece of it into the hole. Do this at night when they are all in the nest. I buy 2 extra large dog flea collars each year in the spring and cut 3-4 inch pieces and place them in every louvered or open location and then use the final piece with the buckle in the propane cover. No more bugs, bees, roaches, ant or what have you.

wasps and bees are attracted to leaking propane, sometimes works better than a sniffer.
