Window seal-floor recomendation

Hello friends, we are in the process of replacing floor sections and now are at the point of tracing leaks and repairing them. Here are some pics of the window and previous owners job of sealing, not very impressive to say the least so after removing this material as best I can what do you all recommend to use? I have heard pro silicon and never silicon, so all contributions are appreciated. Also the flooring material debate. Marine grade, treated, non treated, I know sealing the edges is important. Thanking you in advance. Steve & Lori
P.S. It also looks like I will have to remove and rivet a seam at this window. What type of rivets for this? Olympic?

Sealant

Having worked on 100 or so a/s over the last 17 years I have not found any thing that seals and holds up as well as vulkem poly urethane caulk.clean off the silicone and wipe off with alcohol and apply just a big enough bead to cover. Stays flexible and sticks to pretty much any surface. You can get it at most any ace hardware or industrial supply. Good luck.

Hi Joel,

Considering putting a low VOC silicon roofing coating on the inner side of the outer skins of my 1967 Gutted 24' Tradewind.

Reason I am interested in this:
1) Support Interior Waterproofing.
2) Decrease thermal currents and Irradiation into the inner wall space and then the inner skins.
3) Decrease conduction of sound on a rainy day.

The stuff if high elastic and rated 15+ years on roofs and has a primer that can be applied to enhance adhesion to the aluminium.

Planning on putting bare aluminium on the inner skins, the old inner skins were toast, sorry to say.

Material Details:
1) Primer to Optimize Adhesion:

2) Liquid Silicon Roof Membrane:

Can you or anyone else comment. I know a lot of persons here don't like silicone, but specifically this product and purpose.

Thanks for you input!

Joel (from Los Angeles)
