Who needs parts? Going to AS salvage yard.

I'm making a trip to an airstream salvage yard here in NC. Looking for a few parts for my dad's airstream (see other thread: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f42...ri-104416.html) They report to have "20 to 30" airstreams for parts. Anyone in WNC / upstate SC need anything? Or anyone anywhere need something that can be shipped? I'll make a list and keep my eyes open.

I might just buy all the emblems on all trailers as that's something i see everyone looking for, and i also need .

I could use a tambour piece for my entertainment center area. I can get the measurements if you think you can find something. This would be easy to mail.

See if they have any of the original hubcaps or aluminum wheels still around, all I have are black rims right now.

The OEM aluminum rims usually have clearance issues with things like disk brakes and centramatic balancers. Unless you are stuck on having a 100% restoration, aftermarket rims might be a better option. You can also upgrade to 16" rims so you can use real tires not ST tires.

Are you going to share the location of this mother lode? Or at least taunt us with many pictures? Or are you waiting to see if it's really what it's purported to be?

Inquiring minds...

it's national recovery service in liberty, Nc. Been posted about before, not sure if anyone on the forums has went. i plan to take many many photos for posterity's sake... I figured i'll report back. but its 2+ hr drive so, i figured I'd make a list and TRY to make it worthwhile.

I was also thinking... If i don't pick up your item at least ill pick it and have them save it for ya if they ship. Not 100% sure. waiting for a call back.

Parts

Adam, I could use a replacement tongue jack for a '66 thru '68 trailer. One of my PO's sledge hammered a landing wheel into the bottom of the jack leg and it cannot be removed. The ground clearance is now much less than it should be and it has always worried me. If you find one there please let me know. Thanks, Ed

Hey Perry
Going to stick with the 15" size for now, the tires are fairly new and I dont have that much excess cash to spring for new tires as well. I'd be really surprised that they wouldnt clear with the centramatic balancers, I have a set on and the pretty much sit right on top of the drum with maybe an eighth or so proud on the lip. For the right price I would make a trip down to NC for a set, every time I've seen one pop up on the classifieds, they are on the other coast or want as much as new rims.

Just trying to get away from this look:

For the OP, this is what I would like to get:

Or this:

will keep my eyes out for everyone. I have the airforums app installed on my phone so ill just take you all along with me. The photos inserted into the thread help. for big items (wheels) or hard to remove items (tongue jack?) I'll just scope and note which trailer it's on to make it easy for them to ship it to you or hold them for you. The emblems should be easy, denise, if they have them.

Also, it's lauren posting. Adam doesn't really 'do' the forums, but i figured i'd include him in my sig so he didn't feel left out when i am surfing the forums sitting next to him

I need some of the little plastic swing tabs on the back of the 120v wall plug sockets (they hold the socket in place by securing it on inside of the aluminum wall.

Thanks,

It looks like they have some late model trailers there. I'm looking for the front panoramic (corner) windows, if you happen to see them. They are the same from late '80's to present. Here's a pic:
