Where to buy axles and panels?

Guys, anyone know if Inland RV is still in business? I've tried to contact them by email and left 3 messages on there voicemail. It's been over two months.

I need two new axles and a replacement panel. Anyone else I can contact for the parts? 78 sovereign.

Thanks

Out of Doors Mart for panels that's where I got one for my 71. Colin Hyde is highly talked about a lot on the Forums for axles. Hope this helps.

Do you need a flat panel or a formed panel. The formed panels from Airstream are made from the current aluminum and will not match your 1978.

I'm going to polish so hopefully it's not noticeable

It will be noticeable, the new panels have a mill finish and the clear coat is applied at the Alcoa factory on new panels.

I too would contact Colin. I've been a guest on the VAP with him and Tim a couple times and he seems to have them figured out. Don't know if he still does axles but would sure keep asking around to find out. Best I can tell he is a straight shooter.

Communicated with the folks at Inland about axles roughly 2 months ago. They may just be busy, or the right person isn't getting your messages.

Angry Inland

I don't know what there status is, but they won't answer the phone or answer Does anyone know a dealer that you can order parts from who is reliable ? I tried a dealer in the Northeast via their parts ordering site. No response. Since Airstream does not let you order parts directly anymore it seems we can't get parts anymore. Just another reason to question my purchase of an airstream.

out of doors mart

I had thought Inland RV had new owners and was dedicated to their business, Not sounding that way.

I bought axles from Inland a few years ago and had no problem, Andy helped me over the phone and had the order ready when I arrived and he loaded them in my truck and was painless.

Have bought a few things from Silver trailer supply when they were in Utah? and other than slow shipping all went well.
They are now in Washington and don't have a great reputation around here.

Bought many items from Out of doors mart and they are great, the one time they did not have an item I ordered online they phoned me to tell me there would be a delay and asked if I wanted to wait or have a refund?

A second vote for Out of Doors mart in Colfax (?), North Carolina.

I'll also be ordering an axle from Colin Hyde in January for my '62.

Third vote for Out of Doors Mart. And depending on what you need, there is also Vintage Trailer Supply.

Somebody mentioned recently that Inland was very hard to get a hold of as an employee had a death in the family so they were kind of out of sorts there for some time.

Colin is a very busy guy with the podcast, camping, family. I said that he had hired somebody in the office but from what we hear he's still a little hard to get ahold of.

We will also be ordering our axles from him, when we get a hold of him, and we ordered a set from him previously and had good success..

I ordered an axle from Inland RV. I had a hard time getting any communication from them. “Oh, I will check on that and call or email you back.” It doesn’t happen. The operator is sweet, but can do nothing for you. The manager is the one who said that she would get back to me. I ordered my axle in August, I got my money back in October. I was told by the manager that her father had just passed. That was about a month or so ago. I have ordered my new axle from Colin Hyde. Still waiting it’s only been about 3 weeks. It can take up to 5 weeks to build, I am told. It was slightly cheaper than Inland And I believe it is coming with the shock mounts welded on. With Inland you had to weld them on yourself.
Colin Hyde’s info is online if you google it. Good luck!

Just installed a set of axles from Colin. You have to redrill the back holes. The shock mounts we're welded on too far out, needed to be cut off and welded on farther in. Not Colin's fault, I would blame Dexter axle. Check the shock mounts before you install
