What is this?

We have a1983 31'Excella and this blue button near the door has had my interest a long time. I finally took time to investigate and it turns out to be a cover over a round type key. Ok but what does it lock or unlock? Anyone have any idea?

If it is a security lock in there,I would guess it to be an add on alarm,just my guess.

There is a manual switch in the bedroom and a siren type alarm in the closet. That could be it. Sound good to me. Thanks
