Load distributing hitch pry bar for an Equalizer. Allows the bars to be lifted up into position on the trailer tongue.

Yes, accessory for the Equal-i-zer hitch.
The hook snags a hole in the support and the pry bar lifts the torsion bar onto the bracket.
Most people just raise the tongue jack.

Sells on Amazon for about $22. I'd say (unless you have said hitch) take it to a rally and give it to someone who lost theirs.

Thanks, folks,
I suspected it had to do with the hitch. My Bambi came with an Eaz-Lift 48054 hitch and the parts diagram shows a tubular handle about 18" long to latch and unlatch the chain toggles. I have such a handle and it works fine. So maybe this is left over from a previous trailer belonging to previous owner? I have only towed the rig without any load dist. or sway control in the past and it was fine up to 62mph, then sway began at 65mph. Yesterday I hooked up all the load and sway control tackle for the first time and towed it at 75mph with no sway, so the stuff works. But I think the 14,000 lb gross wt. hitch is overkill for my little Bambi. I can't find any marks on the spring bars but I think I saw some before I painted them. What sort of load rating is correct for 19ft. trlr? How can I copy this thread to "Towing / Hitches" forum?

Mystery tool no more

OK, look how nicely the curved tip clears the frame and propane line, allowing the spare tire to be levered into position. I have been unable to locate in my Airstream manuals any picture or mention of this tool, but if it fits...
