Smile Wet Bath Question

Looking for 2000-2009 20' or 22' Airstream. Like the 22' models, but my husband does not like the shower/commode combination. If you have this bathroom are you pleased with it? Any way to keep the commode dry while you shower? Is there enough room to hang a shower curtain in front of the commode? The 20' models have the separate shower/commode, but these models are very hard to find used. If you know of any 20' models for sale, please let me know. Checking the classfieds on this site often, haven't had much luck. Any information regarding the bathroom in the 22' models would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, JBC

One of our AS's is a 22' 2004 Safari with the wet bath. Having grown up on sail boats a wet bath is nothing new for us. The shower curtain hangs across the door but the rest of the head is all shower. With the toilet I just think of ig getting cleaned all the time! We keep a few extra small absorbant towels on hand to use for a quick wipe down. The minor life style change is well worth it when we want to get into smaller state and national parks. The Tradewind has a sepperate shower which is nice but hey, an Airstream is an Airstream.

My wife and I have a 22 foot CCD. We opted for the 22 footer for the duel axles - that was the safety feature I wanted and a smaller camper. When it was just the 2 of us, cleanup in the wet bath was not an issue - we just used an absorbant cloth and hung it on the towel rack. With the bath fan going and the AC on - it all dried in 20 minutes or less. The shower curtain can be draped over the commode but I find no real reason to do this. The curtain is more to protect the door access from water getting out of the bath enclosure.

Now, toss in a kid, we will find out how easy the job will be. We have not camped yet but will use Fort Wilderness as a test next month.

Any more questions just ask. We like the size of the trailer

We have a 2002 22' CCD with a wet bath. Frankly, we don't mind the wet bath at all. It is very roomy, and since we'd squeegee/wipe the fiberglass walls dry after showering even in a dry bath, there is very little extra work. Yes, the toilet does get wet , but we simply dry it off with a towel after showering. I suppose you could rig up some sort of shower curtain in front of the toilet, but then you'd be limiting the space available in the original configuration. I think you'll find some different opinions on the Forum... people either seem to love or hate the wet bat setup. Good luck!

Dri-Dek

One more thing - I installed Dri-Deking on the floor in white. Makes it really great when going into the head with shoes not scratching the floor. Also, you don't need to wipe down the floor qafter a shower before someone else can go in.

Our first AS was a 2003 23' International with a wetbath. Wife never used the shower in the unit but chose to use the bath houses where we camped. I didn't have an issue with it. We upsized in 2008 to a 27FBSE where everything is separate and much more user friendly. If we could have found the same 23' with separate shower and commode, we would not have upsized.
