Water leaks from rain

We have an older Airstream (a 1986 29-foot Sovereign) that leaks when it rains. Our mechanic told us that the rivets get loose and let water in. He told us to use paste wax on the trailer. It would stop the leaks for about a year. We tried it, and he seems to be right. Is there a better solution?

Welcome to the forums! Have a look around, lots of info to be found here. The accepted seam sealant is Trempro 635, a polyurethane "caulk".

Welcome to the leak club.
Not knowing enough to be afraid... (I know more than I did, but I did it anyway!)
