Welcome to the forums first off.
I find that this place has the best prices for appliances.
Atwood Hot Water Heater on Sale - PPL Motor Homes

Removal is from the outside, there are several screws mounting the heater to the shell of the trailer. You will need to disconnect the water lines and the propane gas line. Both the water and the gas lines will need to be modified for the new heater.

If the tank is leaking you will have to replace it. Most other failures however are probably better repaired.

I have posted these pictures several times, but hopefully they are helpful to others trying to replace hotwater tanks and keep their original access door.Vintage 6 Gallon Bowen hotwater tank was replaced with a new 6 Gallon Atwood. The old Bowen housing was saved and the access door, by putting the new Atwood hot water tank into the old Bowen housing.Once the lines were taken loose from the inside, the old water heater housing was wiggled out from the outside.
