Washer/Dryer combo.

We own a 2001 Classic 30 with slide and I want to install a washer/dryer combo under the microwave. Looks like with a little cabinet modification, it would fit right in and plumbing could run behind fridge and hook up to bathroom sink plumbing. Has anyone done this or seen it done. Wife really wants her own wash/dryer when we travel.

Definitely an interesting idea. Always wondered why AS doesn't offer a small combo, especially on their more full time units like the 30' Classic.

Takes up space and you are limited to small loads and the washing and dying time is forever. When it spins the whole coach shakes. I had one in my 2005 Airstream 396 XL and took it out and added more storage drawers.

I think a consideration would be it's effect on balance, keeping the trailer weights similar on each side.

At times we would like one as well, we are out from home 6-7 months a year. But there simply isn't enough space or extra weight capacity to add it in. Part of Airstreaming, and we are happy with the concept.

When you get a combo unit be sure to get one that has a vent to the outside, otherwise drying time will be many hours.

Yes you will have to cut a hole to the outside for the dryer vent. It's no big deal, really.

The wife is allergic to detergent so we can't use outside laundries as they are contaminated .
So we are installing a washer and a dryer under the new counter in the kitchen area of our '69 Tradewind .

We have no need for the 3rd bed but we could toss a mattress on top of the new counter if need be.

Here's a before and as it stands now , I'll be installing them this winter.

And yes the dryer will be vented to the outside just ahead of the wheel well.
