Ahhh, Ompah

Hiya Pete, another Ontarian here. Do you want to start a thread (which you did), blog, or post pics? We like pics.

Funny you should say that masseyfarm, Pete probably has an easier time getting internet than I do and I am 2 Km south of the Ottawa city limit as the crow flies. Yes, that is the Ottawa that is supposed to be the CAPITAL of Canada
We have limited options out here in dairy country.

Welcome Pete!
In the fall I picked up my own 31' Sovereign 1978! I spent the winter working on it, replacing shocks, brakes, some wiring etc. Its been at CanAm for the last week getting a once over.
Enjoy and Good luck!

Hi Pete, Paul here.

In 2009 Jennie and I took our vintage '75 Silverado down to Florida and hauled back a 1979 Sovereign International to our seasonal site not too far from you, on Hwy 62 just south of Bancroft (near Lamable.)

The trailer was already in really good cosmetic and structural condition when we got it, allowing me to focus on replacing pretty much all the 30 year old mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Most of the big projects are finished and it has proven to be a fun, reliable and comfortable weekend getaway. Even though it tows super easy with completely updated running gear for the trip from Florida (new brakes, tires, hubs, lights and electrical) we opted to just leave it on our site where it is safely stored and situated - ready to enjoy. We can just cruise up weekends and enjoy it immediately, even when we take some of our other vintage toys.

If you're looking for a site recommendation, I highly recommend you check out this place. The Bancroft Tent and Trailer camp is very well operated, clean, organized, safe, friendly and accessible. It has a small (power-boat-free!) spring-fed lake, clean, perfect for swimming and canoeing. Truly an ideal spot for couples and families to enjoy quality stress-free recreation together, as intended. We've been seasonal there for 10 years and are counting down the few anxious weeks to the start of our sixth season with the Airstream.

I really need to update our picture gallery but click that link here or below for more pics of our trailer and site.

Maybe we'll see you at the camp - but until then, let's see some pictures of your '76!

We have a 1975 sovereign international land yacht 31' rear bath. We picked it up 4-5 years ago and are working away at the little things.

We're in Ottawa.
