Vents with lights...?

I must be missing something completely obvious. In my '75 Tradewind, I have a powered vent fan with an interior light and two more non fanned vents with lights. Why can I not find a replacement powered vent with a light? I can find powered and no powered vents, but none with lights. If I find them, can I put a powered and lighted vent in where I currently have non fanned vents with lights?

You can add powered vents to all your roof vents (solardomes).

Sadly I dont think you have missed anything. I had the same problem. I replaced all my vents with fantastic fans and I lost all of my overhead lights. I came up with this solution that I designed:

I made the frame out of maple and soldered and wired the led strips together and put a switch on the side of the frame. The frame is about a 1/4 inch wider than the Fantastic vent.

To the best of my knowledge they don't make vents with lights. In reality the vent and the light in the Airstream are two different items they just share a common cover. I like what erock53 did, that was pretty ingenious. I was just going to add some Thin Line fluorescent fixtures in the areas where I was using the Fantastic Vents.

Ok then, I have question from an electrical novice.
Can I install a powered fan and a light where there used to be just a light and a non powered vent? Or would I need to run an additional power supply?

Yes

Most of the 12 volt wiring in the Airstream runs down the upper part of the shell, usually to one side or the other of the center line. In your case where there are non powered vents you already have the 12 volt line there for the lights, it can be used for both lights and vents.
