Ditto here. Mine was variable speed Chicago brand. There's a 'Chicago' in China?
It was cheap, less than $20 so I didn't care if it broke....it didn't. I used it mostly to remove deep scratches then I used a Cyclo. All T need now is the Cyclo for upkeep.
