We all to many times pay for things we didn't get or ask for. Cars, trucks, RV's.

Incompetence College, has tons of graduates. Those graduates are also underpaid. Just ask them.

It's best that if you do not know the shop, then stand by as they are doing (or attempting) the work.

Airstream dealers and shops are watched by Airstream. If they are out of line and/or incompetent, they become history.

We used to make the trip from Seattle to Boise to have the coach serviced, sure do miss them.

Camping World installed a air conditioner on my 65 Caravel, they cut a 14 X 14 hole, wired it, installed drip pan, ran a drip tube, and everything went perfect, of course the tech was an expert, and has done a few installs.

I fully understand what the issues are you are having with campers world, they do not have a good reputation when it comes to their service dept, like the services you requested. being an disabled tech (not an RV tech) but and auto/truck tech, the service given to people is VERY BAD! How do you know where to go and be treaded well, ask around weather on this forum or at camp ground or goggle it. As for what they did i would go back and confront they about this,as it was not right and in NY it is not legal. If the dealer refused to man up contact the better business, and the states attorney general and let them help you out with some kind of satisfaction for your money spent.
Good luck and happy camping

Kinda off topic, but oddly related. I once had new tires installed by a well know national tire shop for a weekend of wheelin'...I needed the tires, they were just released by Goodyear and I drove 90 miles to get them to the shop so I could make the trek on new rubber, rather than miss 1/2 my trip waiting for their next shipment the following day. Anyhoo, after all that effort on my part (which I didn't mind), the tire jockey installs the fronts by jacking the truck up via the front pumpkin! Needless to say, the ramifications of his inexperience didn't hit until I selected four-low at the trail head and all of the expensive royal purple was puked out all over the ground! Not only did I have a mess to clean up, it was just plain irritating. Well, I gets home, call the shop and they say "sure, we'll take care of it!" take it to a quicky lube joint and we'll foot the bill. One MAJOR problem...ya can't get the pumpkin cover off to straighten it or replace it without dropping the steering rack. Short story...they did cough up $250, but the total bill was over $1,100. Just like Inland Andy says: watch em like a hawk!
