Ultra Leather is SLIPPERY! Any suggestions?
Hi guys!
I did a search on this and did not come up with much so I thought I would reach out and see what others are doing if anything.
I feel like a 6 year old in Sunday school when sitting in my Airstream in that I am constantly sliding off the couches! This Ultra leather is super slippery! Has anyone come up with any solutions on how to keep your posterior firmly affixed to your couch seat cushions? I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting your suggestions!

I tried a product used by equestrians called Sekur-Grip that helps stop sliding off of a saddle. It works.

Rubber mat will work
I put favorite cushions on those rubberized mats wherever I sit. Even use the sort of bath mats (rubberized on bottom) from the toilet, and trim to size.

2017?
That already had the perforated Ultra leather which was supposed to stop sliding like the smooth fake leather.
Slip covers made of fabric?

One step we took was to have the soft foam changed to a firmer foam. The original foam would breakdown, compress on the edges causing a slid ramp to form. The harder foam seems to have helped. One downside, my wife's feet no longer can touch the floor.

The ultra leather was too slippery for us too. I have solved it pretty well with minimal effort by using two microfiber bath towels. I sewed a strip of Velcro on the long edge of the towels, and then put an adhesive strip of the opposing Velcro on the bottom of the back rest of the bench just below the level of the cushion, so it anchors the towel which covers the cushion. It is easy to take off and wash, and stays in place while sitting on it. We have the 2016 22FB Sport.

I have the same problem with my 2017 International Serenity. The Ultraleather feels great to the hand, but it is slippery. After sitting down, over a period of ten or twenty minutes I end up slowly slouching lower and lower, until finally I'm in danger of sliding under the dinette table. ;-)
My planned solution: I'll have new covers made from Sunbrella marine fabric. It won't be cheap, but Sunbrella is extremely durable... and it isn't slippery.

Clever solution, especially the way you anchored them. I'll try that for the short term, since getting new cushion covers made is a long-term project.

We had the same problem and didn't have enough room to fit so I took out the cushions and replaced with hinged Sunbrella bench cushions (about 50.00 each). We fit and don't slide. Only the two of us and our puppy so didn't need as an additional sleeping area.

I replaced my casita cushions with sunbrella and it was great stuff. My ultra leather in my serenity ain't slippery but if it was, sunbrella would be an option. I don't think it'd look or feel quite as nice as the ultraleather though? How long/often y'all used your trailers? Maybe it's just gotta break down a little? Is it still tight or has it loosened and wrinkled a bit from use?

Suggestions? Yea, get a new model which offers the non-slip material! LOL
Seriously, we hated that slip/slide in our 2014 25' FC. When looking at the 2017's, we noted the FC models offered the new "perforated" non-slip ultra leather Dwell as an option, but it was not offered in the International models...too bad. We have it in our 28' FC Twin and love it! No slip/sliding away anymore when watching TV ...(also, note the FC model of 28', has 2 more cabinets above the dinette) Not sure why the International models don't offer the non-slip and also the extra cabinets...your surely paying more for that unit...

Hi Paprika and others with the 22 Sport and 23 FC. The other easy fix we came up with to "lock" the table in place when it's not in its fixed position is to cut wine corks into wedges, and slipping them into the space between the metal glides and the table. This secures the table pretty well.

Funniest thread!
Husband and I both noticed the slip-sliding on the ultra leather as we've been shopping for a new Airstream. It seems to depend on what you're wearing, as to how slippery it is.
I can deal with it. Husband doesn't like it. I told him I'd sew velcro onto the back of all his pants.
