TV Antenna Mounting

Have a 2009 28' Flying Cloud which has the typical Winegard TV antenna.

Discovered a leak and repaired same by a re-caulk of the the antenna base. Here is the question-I think this antenna is fastened to the roof with only two of the some 8 or so mounting screws holes on the antenna mounting base. It appears that AS simply screwed the two screws into the existing rib/frame member and screwed the balance of the screws through the exterior skin only. It is hard to believe that there is no fabricated base plate attached to that rib; but, see no evidence of it. Note: I did not completely remove the antenna from the trailer. If I'm right, suspect that frequent recaulking is going to be a necessity. Thoughts? Ideas for improving this situation short of removing the interior skin to expose the mounting?

Thanks folks.

I think they are all like that. I just installed a new antenna and there is no base plate supplied with it, and none with the old antenna I removed.
