Towing a small trailer with 1999 Safari ?

I have tried doing a search on frame or rear end seperation without much luck so I am going to throw this out anyway.

I have a 4'x6' trailer that weighs 300 lbs. An atv that weighs 450 lbs. Tonge weight is 75 lbs. when loaded. My question is if I have a rear receiver hitch made to fit between the frame rails just below the rear storage bin, can the frame handle the 75 lb. tongue weight? Any input is certainly welcome. Thanks

My advice is, don't do it. Many (most) states have laws against "wagon trains". The other issue is the well known "don't hang anything on the back of an Airstream" idiom. 75 pounds bouncing up and down, as well as the 750 pound weight that will have to be moved by stressing something on the trailer, is separation and frame problems looking for a place to happen.
Sorry to rain on your idea, but I see nothing but problems for you, if you try it.

The short answer is don't do it the frames are not designed for this type of stress.

Cut and paste the below into the google search box, google not the forums and start reading. modify as necessary. Be prepared to stay up all night.

Towing with an Airstream is the equivalent of towing a boxcar with a wood-spar 1920's Biplane. It's just the way it is.

Not a good idea. Just don't do it.
