????-To identify a trailer model
Is there any way to identify a trailer model and year by these numbers?
5287 and 2724.

Those numbers are most likely the WBCCI numbers that were on the unit from time to time. The numbers are assigned to the members. When a trailer is sold to another owner he might also then become a wbcci member and he might be assigned another number, which he would install on the unit. There is no way to tell who exactly owned that number or trailer since we do not know what year the numbers were placed on the trailer. A couple of us members do have large collections of old national directories and can identify who has had a specific number in specific years and with some guessing may provide so idea of the possibilities. Very few members continue to frequent these forums after they have sold their Airstreams and so there is not positive way of knowing exactly. It might help to know just how faded the numbers are and if you could determine which numbers were put on the trailer first.

The numbers I posted are on two different trailers. They are both Internationals. My guess is they are in the '60 era. I can't get access to them today to check the serial numbers. Thought maybe the numbers I posted were traceable.

If we get serial numbers, we can help. Club numbers, not so much. The numbers could have changed hands, been inactive, or not even assigned to a club member.

In the '60s, "International" was an optional finish package indicator...not a trailer model. Post the VIN #'s and someone will help you decipher them or check out the Photo Archives to see if anything looks familiar. You didn't mention the length, but I'd suggest starting with the Overlander or Sovereign models as they were the most common "big ones".

Two of the trailers look like they are between 24' and 27 ' both are tandem axle. The third trailer could be a 30' er. As I recall the larger one has an Ambassador emblem. I don't have access to the trailers at the moment to get serial numbers. They all could be early 70's models. Two have a small narrow window under the larger window on the front street side. All three have windows on the front corners that wrap around the corners. These windows are smaller than an Argosy wrap around window.

FWIW, I've had the number 5287 since 1998. No idea who had the numbers before me. But an educated guess is that they were originally assigned to someone in the 60s. The club ran numbers up into the 30K range sometime in the 70s and then started to reuse numbers. It is not impossible that I am the second owner of those numbers.
